Owl
This recent addition to St. Francis got tangled in a barbed wire fence on October 2, 2011 on Southern Ute land. He had serious damage to his eye as you can see. The surgery required that the vet stitch the eyeball wound first and then stitched the eyelid closed to protect the eye. A week ago he removed the stitches on the eyelid and the eye looked much improved, but it's too early to tell if he will regain full vision.
The wounds on the underside of the left wing are healing well. He also needed stitches to patch that area's wounds. I put him in a large flight cage on the October 20th and he is trying to fly. Quite well actually, considering the wounds he had.
